Special Food Services for Student Meal Plans
Special food services are available for students that have meal plans.
Sack Lunches
Great for long-weekends when you are going to hit-the-road or anytime you don't have time to sit down and eat. Sack lunches are available for take-out at the Wilkerson Dining Center so you don't have to miss a meal. Tell the dining center staff at the checkstand that you would like to make a sack lunch for a meal you will miss. You will be allowed to make your own lunch and take it with you.
Sick Trays
If a student living in the residence halls does not feel well enough to go to the Wilkerson Dining Center to eat, there are two options to get a meal. Both options require a friend, roommate, or hall staff member to assist in bringing food to the student's room.
Option 1
Traditional Sick Tray
If you are not feeling well, ask a friend, roommate, or hall staff member to go to the Wilkerson Dining Center and bring a small meal back to your room; your friend will select the meal from the daily menu.
- You will need to complete a Meal Request Form, which is also available from your RA (or other hall staff) or at the dining center checkstand.
- Have your roommate present the completed form to the dining center staff and they will enter your ID number and deduct one meal from your meal plan. The person picking up the Sick Try will need to present their ID card for verification purposes.
- You do NOT need to call ahead to pick up a traditional sick tray.
Option 2
Flu Fighter Kits
If you have the flu, it is important to keep hydrated and eat smaller meals. Instead of a traditional sick tray, your friend, roommate or hall staff may bring you a Flu-Fighter Kit, either KIT 1 (mostly liquids) or KIT 2 (liquids and more solids).
- You will need to complete a Meal Request Form, which is also available from your RA (or other hall staff) or at the dining center checkstand.
- Indicate on the Sick Tray Form which kit you prefer.
- Have your roommate present the completed form to the dining center staff and they will enter your ID number.
- The flu fighter kits are intended to be enough for one day, so we will take two meal swipes for each kit (unless you have an unlimited plan)
- You do NOT need to call ahead to pick up either kit.
