If you’re interested in the ground-side of aviation, a degree in airport management could be your ticket to an exciting and prosperous career in the aviation industry.
With a mix between aviation and business, the airport management major strikes the right balance. Along with an emphasis in management, you’ll learn about all aspects of general aviation, air carrier and the total aviation industry. You’re provided the flexibility to concentrate on particular areas of the industry such as:
- General aviation operations
- Airline management
- Airport administration
- Corporate aviation management
You’ll also earn your private pilot certificate with this degree.
Airport Management students are invited to be involved in the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) where they tour airports across the country and attend the national AAAE conference.
After earning your B.B.A. with a major in Airport Management, you could be an airport manager anywhere from a large international airport to a small municipal airport. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the airport on a daily basis. This includes:
- Supporting staff and making sure that all staff is able to provide polite, prompt and correct information to travelers
- Knowing airport policies and procedures
- Ensuring passengers, luggage and freight are moved through the airport in a logical and timely manner.
